I know of an old home site that has been just an open field for at least close to 30 years. There is a fence going around the property that is just as old. I am dying to detect here due to a creek and lots of open space. How would I go about finding out who owns this land to ask permission? I dont want to just want hop on it. It sits rights next to the freeway.

Town halls have a book you can buy that's like a phone book but it go's by addresses and not names that have the owners names too. They will make you a copy of the map of the land if you want too.And if you need help digging the field I'm about an hour from you and love doing fields.

if you were really an hour away i would say sure. i can always use tips.

Thanks to everyone for the useful help. I will have to check into this soon.

the nieghbors consist of a preschool and a community college. which I really wouldnt mind being able to detect either. since it was home of the 49er training camp for quite some time before they moved due to the heat. :nopity: can you detect a community college?
