Question/Help......

This is an example of a problem I see when shooting with my Nikon 885. This was shot in all auto mode (I think)...The problem is that many of the images are coming out with scrambled and/or broken lines. Seems that where there are lines, ropes, cables or even edges of buildings or edges of profiles, the lines come out broken up like this..When the pics are increased in size they seem to get better but still imperfect! Flash pics don't seem to do this. Is it the camera, the mode I am using or what?... maybe a menu item I need to turn off or on..I have no idea and the manual doesn't seem to help...Help! Does anyone know? Thanks, Doug

2 things.
You may have to shoot in a higher resolution mode to get rid of that problem.
Maybe if that camera has a sharpening mode you might try turning that on. I doubt that is the problem though. Looks more like a resolution problem and needing more pixels in the image.

There IS a "sharpening" mode and it WAS turned off. The "high" sharpening mode smooths out the edges of pics, lines and such. The "auto mode" just didn't do the trick. Thanks again! There is a lot to learn with these better cams.
