Question: has anyone used or using a WOT on beaches?

I've got an Excal 2 / 800... In the water this seems to be a pretty good combination, but on the beach, poor results. Has anyone put a WOT on an Excal 2 and hit the beaches? If so, what kind of results do you get and is it worth the extra investment?
Thanks,
Flyguy

best coil for the beach - w o t

probably the worst for the water.................works ok in the water, just hard to move, waves grab it and jerk you around, hard to pin point in the water and it pin points great.

your shoulder will hate u after two days

look at the new sfe or sef coils that kellyco has introduced.............10 x12 and 15x12 butterfly looking jobs

just read down the forum a few days - there are some interesting posts concerning the butterfly ones.

for me...................can not beat the w o t for the beach and damp sand and the waters edge

my 2 cents

Thanks GraveDiggerMax... but I guess to use the coils you mention I'd have to send the detector to Minelab to do the hard wired wiring?

their waterproof tank can not hold the wot...................tooooo big, so they will not guarantee the job for watertightness

but they will do it

now both sunray and coiltec (wot guy) sell waterproof connectors............................for this application, never used them, u will have to ask here as to how they work
