My AT PRO ground balances at 90 other detectors I own gbs at 74-76 is this factory preset or should I manual gb for a slight positive,,,,P.S. just got the machine,,,,,CEDAR

My ATp ground balances at 90 too, weird... I got a big hunt tomorrow i will definitely check it out. My machine is new as well...

Just like the VID numbers aren't the same for every detector the ground balance numbers aren't necessarily either , your ATP 90 just happens to equal the same as the 74-76 on the other detectors. There are some who believe manually adjusting the GB after auto balancing it , may help gain a little depth if you go lower and possibly help with shallow gold or small stuff by going higher , but Ive been experimenting with that for 2 years and haven't really been able to see a benefit , though it may depend on the kind of soil in your particular area. When auto balancing , the detector sets itself to reject interference from the ground and should set for optimum performance automatically.

The numbers represented by different detectors will be different onn the same location. There is no standard of numbers for ground balancing like there is for discrimination.
