I've found this forum to be more helpful and the information about Tesoro products immeasurably more accurate than on the other Tesoro forum and would like to see a lot more posts here.

There is some real talent and knowledge lurking out there, but for some reason, they are not posting on this forum. When Tesoro released the Tejon Metal Detector in the market place, this site came alive. At that time, there were more knowledgable people that started posting than I have ever seen on one site...it was amazing.
There was a lot of controversy, some verbal exchanges, but the site became the place to find out about the Tesoro metal detectors. Somehow, people stopped posting...sad, some of those people were a real credit to this hobby. That is all that I can tell you. Please have a great day! Even though I've owned and used several different Tesoro models over the last 15 years I don't currently have one so I seldom post here except to answer any questions I'm capable of answering or occasionally comment on something I feel to be inaccurate. As Kelley said, there are some very knowledgable people who post here at times. People who have spent years using not only Tesoro detectors but also most of the other brands which gives them a solid base to use when comparing various brands and models. People who aren't trying to sell you a detector, and that does make a difference <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="">. There's no question you'll get more accurate information about the performance of the various Tesoro models here than at some of the other forums, even though it does get a little rowdy every now and then.

Well part of the reason is "you". And that is not meant to be a snide or degrading remark. Simply, that if you wish to see more posts, then post a question that interests you. Even if you feel that is a simple newbie question like "what does GB mean?", all the way up to say, "what is the underlying technology of a pulse induction circuit?".
The Tesoro forums were in some way diluted after the Tejon & X5 wars last year. Tesoro decided to set up their own forum, which now splits the Tesoro owners in to at least three distinct forums of some size. All three have a distinctive "feel" to them with Tesoro.com being the most docile and the TD at times sounding like Dodge City.
There was enough bad taste left in many posters mouths, that it appears many simply had no desire to even weigh in on the Cibola & Vaquero. All that being said, a quick perusal this evening of the number of views that topics have had on all the major manufacturer forums here, shows this one too have more visitors(lurkers)than most.
And possibly because of continuing residual effect of the Tejon/X5 wars, simply put the word "Tejon" in the subject line and look at the number of views it will get. In the past month I made two posts regarding the Tejon, and they have had over 300 views each. I suspect that as soon as the posters on the TD or at Tesoro.com hear about a post on the Tejon they do a "fly by".
So ask away, even if it is to say "I wish Tesoro would make a machine with the following features" etc. Hell, I've already asked them to make a copy of the CZ-20 with their new HOT circuitry for freshwater hunting. There's a check signed sitting in my check book waiting!

The other Tesoro forum attracts a lot more people because it is more controversial. It is sort of like listening to Howard Stern. What will they say next? Post a thread that detector dealers don't detect and are clueless about the performance of their machines and watch the fallout. Full of hatred and loathing for the X-5? If so the other forum is a place you can vent your rage.
Need some laughs- Hey visit the other forum and have fun. It will be a long winter. However,if you desire unbiased information about new Tesoro products, the other forum is the last place I would look.
