Question for you soccer field hunters

Where are you getting all your finds? Are you hunting the actual soccer fields or the sidelines where people sit and watch the games? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

sidelines are good find were they place bags and coats ect by bench,s the field its self can also be good but more spread out unlike closer side line,s find most of my rings on side lines

Yep, I concur with Teleman...I did find one silver necklace in the field, most everything else on the sidelines and around the benches where the players stash their gear...look for the sunflower seed hulls for the locations where observers sit and watch, or likely shady spots closeby. Another thing, some of the large complexes rotate the fields every few years, so what once was a "sideline" could be right down the middle of a field now...so try to quick sweep and find the "lanes" then work them for old glory! Some of the baseball outfields are used for soccer practice in the Fall too...seems nowadays soccer is the thing, so we gotta sweep em when we can.

All of the above.....I have found gold in all those places you mentioned. The key is to hunt smart and hunt fast.

Av never even thought bout detecting on football (soccer) fields I av loads only 5mins walk from were I live I just thought they would be a no go area as local sports and kids also use the pitches so not a good idea to dig them up as the players would like a nice flat pitch

NO Shovels and no other gear except a screwdriver and maybe a Propoint for finding a chain in the grass...no kneepads...nothing but the detector and a screwdriver if possible...everything you want is in the top 3" anyway...so its fast and light and gone! You dont need to run the high sens, a good stable setting, even swinging coil 4" in the air will hit everything you want..its fast and fun!

That dos sound pretty good:) yer I guess ur right with just a little digging took that a screw driver would want leave any holes so all is good that's a gr8 tip bout lowering sensitivity also like u say if targets are only 4inch can run it bout half way n still get the results I may give it ago some time see what turns up gonna do bit research into the fields as been around for long time

I always hit the sidelines first and then the main field. I use a small digging knife and
Garretts Pro Pointer. Thats it.
Happy Hunting.

Like I sed above av got local football fiends close to me 5mins bike ride away its been used for football for many years as about 10 football pitches on the field I used to play football alot and never once see any one with a metal detector while av passed that way so might be a really good spot to hit:) thanks for all the info guys

I found a white gold wedding band near the sidelines and clad near the goal....matter of fact I did a video and threw it up on YouTube. Since the video, I own another AT Pro (too lazy to change coils I guess..lol)
