Question for wiring gurus

Spungehead

New member
Say you've got an old coil from an Excalibur laying around, but the remaining wire is too short to connect to any machine (except possibly in a dive setup)? Is it at all feasible to extend that wire? Obviously it would require some serious insulating and waterproofing at the patch point, but is it even viable to start with??
thanks for any and all opinions!

Andy;
here is a link to an adhesive lined shrink wrap tubing that should
make the splice waterproof.

Rick.....I remember you mentioning the adhesive shrink wrap. Unfortunately, that website requires a minimum 100' order. I'll have to check out electronic or marine places locally and see if they stock it.

Ron......I may attempt this with my old SeaSearch coil. Where would be the best place to find the proper wire to extend it?
