Question for the experts

My buddy and I are hunting an old school in the 30ish's and it is loaded with pop tabs and and screw caps. My question is should I run the stock coin and disc out pop tabs screw caps knowing I will give up nickels and gold rings and cherry pick this site. I thought if it turns up some good finds I will go back and comb it good. We haven't found anything good yet so I was trying to conserve time. Just want to see what you guys would do,Thanks!

At a new site, I would dig all good signals until I have a good feel for what was under the ground. If I was digging mostly pull tabs and screw caps in the low to mid range CO numbers, I may disc them out if I was limited on the amount of time I could spend detecting there. If it's a site that I plan on hunting on a regular basis, I would not. That way, I'm not giving up the chance on finding Gold Rings, Indian Heads, Flying Eagles, Nickles, etc.. and at the same time clearing out the trash.
