Question for the 705?

[sup][sub][sup][size=large]I have a friend that got his 705, and i have the 70 he wants to know why his volume is lower than mine on the 70, anybody else have this problem on their machine.[/size][/sup][/sub][/sup]

Harold, I had the x50 for years and now the x505 and the volume is lower on the x505 then it was on the x50.

On the x50 I ran the volume at 17 and on the x505 I have to run it at max, 20

Harold, I have no experience with the 70, only the 705. I must do the following on my 705 to get adequate volume for me (1) turn the detector volume to 28-30. Max volume is 30 and (2) turn the volume control on my headphones to maximum volume. I have 3 different pairs of quality phones and this scenario is the same for each. I contacted my Minelab dealer, with this concern, who in turn contacted Minelab. One of their techs contacted me telling me basically if I wanted more volume to increase the threshold. I have less than perfect hearing in one ear. I am able to hear well enough but doesn't leave any margin to increase volume.

Threshold and sensitivity both have an impact on how "loud" your detector is. Threshold when the coil is not over a target and Sensitivity when it is. I always run both the detector and headphones with maximum volume. And set my Threshold and Sensitivity accordingly. JMHO HH Randy
