Question for our Canadian friends

MrGee

New member
This afternoon I found a Canadian penny that instead of a regular date has 1867-1992 on it but no indication of what those dates mean. Anybody tell me what that's all about?

And it is still worth a penny although it might not be worth that for long. The government is still looking at stopping production of the penny. Purchases would be rounded up or down to the nearest 5 cents after taxes. The centennial (100 yrs) was in 1967 and the mint produced a set of centennial coins for that occasion as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't think it was anything rare, but I had never seen one like that before.
