Question for Monte

Monte, I have a question about concentric and widescan coils for Umax's. I understand the widescan coils are double d's. These coils come on Minelab Sovereigns and Explorers. I have used these coils with great success and does anyone hunt coins with these coils on Tesoros? I realize that they handle mineralized ground better, but I like the coverage they provide. Can you even put a widescan on one of the UMax's and if you can how would they be for coin hunting? Thanks R.L. Johnson

There are no widescan coils for the Umax machines that I am aware of.There is an 11 inch widescan for the Lobo Supertraq and I understand the 10x12 coil for the Tejon is a widescan and will work on the LST as well, not sure about the new 5.75 inch Tejon coil?
Personally, I have never used a widescan or double D.How do you pinpoint with them , have heard it is not so easy? How else are they different than a concentric? I use an LST mostly with the 9x8 coil, done the best for me . Just ordered me a 10x12 Tejon coil to see how it does on gold nuggets with my LST.Goin to Arizona for a couple days in early June, hope to try it out north of Phoenix in the gold fields. Any tips would be appreciated?

and all the earlier 'general application' models, can use the 7" Widecan, 8

the 10" elliptical that is standard on the Lobo ST, and <EM>'technically speaking'</EM> the new 10x12 is also an elliptical desig, although it is more of an 'out-of-round' coil than the type of elliptical we are all used to seeing.
Also, my brain wandered back to the 'original' Lobo and some other models when I added the 7" elliptical coil. Tesoro's current small elliptical coil for the Lobo ST & Tej
