Question for Mike Scott :detecting:

Mike I caught this bit you posted on another Fisher thread here :

I have done hundreds of head to heads with old and new MLs under virtually all conditions and targets-in the air in the ground on an oscilloscope inner city and outer city parks deep woods, and beach-the stuff I currently use does better than any Xterra and the Explorer has a slight edge in a few circumstances Those few remaining advantages were partially addressed with the Ltd and the rest are being tackled as we speak.

Can you share what the highlighted text of your post is referring to ? Sounds like a new detector in the works ?

Does FT ever plan to release another multi-frequency detector again? I love the CZ70 I picked up, a next generation digital CZ would've been something to behold.

I hope the new F75 LTD I have coming isn't obsolete already

Thanks and HH,
Brian

I'm just guessing here... but the Explorer certainly has an edge on the wet salt water beaches. If the next generation F75 fixes that deficiency, then that's one circumstance corrected.

In my dirt, the LTD has now surpassed the Explorer II, my previous King when digging red clay. Up to a month ago, I couldn't find a machine that would beat the Explorer in my hunting environs. If the next generation Fisher improves upon the LTD's ability to hunt in bad dirt, well then, the F75 LTD immediately becomes obsolete.

Unless you don't have bad dirt.

Perhaps their bringing back a multi-freq machine to handle mineralization and wet salt hunting, a modernized CZ if you will with all the features of the F75 LTD, now that would be something

We are ALWAYS working on new stuff. As you can tell by the past few years we like to bring new and improved products to market:detecting:

i only have one question, why was the ltd sold as a totally new "limited edition" detector instead of offering a upgrade for current f-75 owners. especially if you do have something totally new in the works? or is every little improvement to the f-75 going to be marketed as a new machine,,,,, i love the performance of my f-75 and if the ltd is better i would like to own one, but not if instead of offering upgrades to the current "flagship" you give it a fancy paint job and make it a "limited edition" and market it as a "new" machine. then i gotta spend 1200.00 each on a bunch of machines with subtle improvements to basically the same machine.

Your one question has already been hashed and re-hashed a number of times already. However, without knowing for sure, the two new and additional modes of the LTD are probsbly a little more then a so called upgrade. But even if they aren't, as has been pointed out, FT is in business to achieve sales and profit...just like every other business world wide. Hence, the LTD is new product for FT in their hopes of continuing to achieve this goal. If companies don't come out with new product, they pretty quickly in this day and time get over run by those that do. I for one hope FT continues to bring out new and improved detector models. Even if some of the improvements may be considered minor. HH jim tn

Yep, hashed and re-hashed.

You can bet that FT is always working on something better, that's why they have an R&D department headed by the legendary Dave Johnson. Top of the line machines don't remain top of the line for long.

Why was the F75 LTD marketed as a new machine? Because detecting companies are in business to make money and they do that by making detectors, not upgrading them. Most of the users that have bought one so far have said that the LTD is worth it.

Good luck finding any manufacturer that will upgrade old product when they bring out something new and improved.
