Question for John or other that have used the new 5x8'' coil?

John in a post below you and your buddy were using the 5x8 coil on the ATPro & ATGold. If both detectors are setup about the same, do you think there is any difference in performence or depth? I have both detectors but ground is frozen so have not tried it yet.

The true all metal mode on the AT Gold will get you an inch or two if depth is the most important issue for you. With both detectors are utilizing a higher frequency, both should be quite sensitive to small conductive targets. Pro mode - zero mode on the AT Pro compared to disc 1 on the AT Gold are very similar and show no noticeable depth differences which I have observed.

Thanks John this answered my question, nice to see we do gain a little more depth using the ATGold in all metal. Having both it is nice to set one up for water hunting with waterproof phones and the other for land hunting.:garrett:
