Question for GTI 2500 owners

Can someone give me the scoop on the 2500..I have a chance to trade for one, and know nothing about them..Do they work well...Do they have any depth, and does the target size thing really work? Thanks all appreciate your responses.

I don't know what you're trading but I will say that I love my GTI 2500. It really is like owning two detectors in one. Is a great ring and coin machine in discriminate. It all metal it is a top notch relic hunter or even gold prospecting machine. Make that three detectors.

Target sizing is great and accurrate about 95 percent of the time. I would not be without it.

PS I've also loaned it to my friend the plumber who has used it successfully to find buried pipes and shut offs, a few quite deep.

If you want good greater depth, get the 12 1/2" Imaging coil. The Imaging works well down to about 6 - 7 inches, then the acuracy levels off. Probably most of your targeta are in this depth range. Now I am talking about discrimination mode. True all metal mode grts even more depth.

About the all metal that ID's on the screen which although noisy will give you super depth...As far as the imaging it will tell you a can a foot deep but over 6 inches the imaging has trouble telling you the exact imaging size and it takes a bit to get used to positioning your coil for proper image..A bit big and bulky with a large screen and many do well with them...Don't care for the talking aspect but thats ones preference..

I started with the talking on and said I would turn it off when I didn't like it anymore. It's still on. The only drawback is you have to wait a few seconds after imaging to resume hunting. It's only really a problem if you don't dig the target. I like the voice and when people come to watch they really go crazy for it.
