QUESTION FOR EXPLORER XS USERS WITH WOT COIL

If you use an explorer xs and use the WOT coil, I have a question for you. I recently received a WOT coil, but have not used it as yet. I presently do beach detecting using the standard 10" explorer xs coil, and I have been very happy with it, as it is not unusual to find coins at 12+ inches. My question is this: Has anyone out there used the WOT coil at the beach, and if so, do you find it to be better in any way than the standard 10" coil? Also, are there any negatives to using the WOT coil at the beach? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

I have the expII and i 've had my WOT coil for about three weeks. I havent used it at the beach but I've used it in sand pits for volly ball to see what a beach would be like. Its great. You cover 15" instead of 10" . Very hot on silver coins and I feel that it works well even in trash. When I get back down to Clearwater Fla. I plan to use it there. Remember that it throws a big signal so pin pointing is a bit larger than std. coil. Also I feel that depth reading is off a little. If a coin is one to three inches it says five to six in the ground in Ill. I hope that helps you a little.

I have been using the WOT for about 8 months now and love it. I hunt wet and dry sand and found it to be very stable. yes there is the extra weight that you have to swing around but you can cover allot more area in a shorter amount of time. If you hunt the beach allot I know you will like it. As far as how deep it goes I have no complaints. If you like digging Penny's at 10".
