QUESTION FOR BILL LADD..SUNRAY CS-5 COIL..PLEASE HELP..

Hi bill :) .. i have just bought a cs-5 coil and it seems ok,but i have it attached to my edge and have taken it to parks and tot lots where all my other coils groundbalance successfully,no problem..how ever,i cant seem to get a successful gb with the cs 5 most of the time,in fact 1 in 30 tries to be exact :(..is there a prob with my coil,or is this a common thing?..yes i have gb,d in clean area etc..any ideas,bill? thanks :)
 
Do you mean you are getting the 4 beeps warning? I have some sites where no matter what spot I try I get the GB warning. Could be due to minerialization, RF problem. In wet sand forget it, I always get that. So, if you have experienced this at just 1 site I would try a totally different site first before thinking there's a problem....
Fisher told me once that the GB beeps warning is just that....a warning that the balance is not 100% perfect. So, keep in mind you can still hunt OK & it does still work.....

Take your 8" stock coil along next time and balance your Edge with that coil on a clean spot. Find a site your bale to get that "perfect" 1 beep balance, mark that spot with your foot. Turn off your Edge, and change coils to the small Sunray one. Try to balance again....
If you don't get the same 1 beep tone like the stock coil than that may be a great indication there's a problem.....
 
Only would G/B in the real bad soil not the mod to bad soil. I sent it in one time before and they said it was OK. I took my edge and G/B same spot and I got the one beep tone. They had to fix the push button and I had a bad coil also. Now it will G/B just like my Edge. I say send it in to them.
A word to the wise. Make sure you have a repair number and put it on the write up you do for the problem, track it there and who signs for it. Keep your tracking number also. UPS can give you all that info. It took them a whole day just to find out that they had repaired mine and it was being sent back to me. They are really unorganised over in Elpaso Tx. at the repair center. Guess they haven't got everything set up right since they moved everything from Cal. Hopefull it will get striaghtened out but, just make sure you do those things so there won't be any mess ups. ::D: :D: Later Jerry aka Tinfoil
