Question for Beachhunter ID users

New member
Hi
I have just got a BH ID.
Had first 90 mins on beach - pics later.
Questions I have :
- If i turn Sens right up clockwise the unit hum changes to a high pitched buzz, and sensitivity seems to drop is this normal?
- as i turn sens knob I get tones / lights - is this normal?
- the LEDS do not "latch on" - are they sposed to?
- when switching from all metal back to disc mode sometimes the background hum is way different to what it was before i used the switch - is this normal?
- how do the leds and tones correllate? sometimes in disc mode I get lights flasing with no tones - just a quitening of the thresshold hum
Am having fun though!

The sensitivity turned all the way up is like using bright lights in a fog. You have to adjust the sensitivity to the appropriate level for your search area. The higher the sensitivity, the more likely you are to receive false signals and unstable operation.

The LEDs do not latch on when a target is hit, just as the audio signal does not latch on when you move away from a target.

I don't know all the technicalities of it, but moving the toggle to "reset" will take care of sound/hum difference when moving back to Disc mode from All Metal mode.

If the sensitivity is set too high for conditions, display accuracy will be reduced, causing the LEDs to light when there is no target.

Good luck & happy hunting.

IS WHEN YOU GET LIGHTS BUT NO TONE IS TURN UP THE THRESH HOLD GO BACK OVER TARGET AREA. THERE MAY NOT BE A TONE BUT YOU SHOULD GET A BREAK IN THRESH HOLD SOUND. THIS CAN BE A SMALL TARGET OR A DEEP TARGET OR A RING THAT IS BROKEN.ALSO WHEN YOU GET A FAINT TARGET FLIP SWITCH TO ALL METAL THIS WILL GIVE YOU EXTRA DEPTH AND YOU STILL GET TARGET ID BY THE LIGHTS. I TRY TO HUNT IN ALL METAL WHEN EVER I CAN.YOU CAN SLOW SWING SPEED AND YOU GET BETTER DEPTH.I HAVE DONE WELL ON SMALL GOLD WITH MY BEACH HUNER! I HUNT DRY SAND WET SAND AND OUT TO NECK DEEP WHEN EVER I CAN.LOVE MY BEACH HUNTER ID!HOPE THIS HELPS.
