question for AT Pro users who used to have an ACE 250

My question is on the DIGITAL TARGET ID 0-99 feature...on my ACE I've numbered the 12 segments from 1-12 and nickels falls on segment #4. So do gold rings and platinum rings and other jewelry. Others hit on segments 5 and 6 (or pulltab). If something hits on my ACE on segment #4 and on the AT PRO on its segment 4, will the AT's DIGITAL TARGET ID give a different number for its targets or will it tell my by its number that it's a ring or a nickel even if it's in the same segment? Or do you still have to "dig everything?"

The ATpro has 5 separate numbers within any notch. For instance the nickel notch cover the numbers 50 to 55. Depending on your conditions a nickel will hit at 53 within that notch. So what you'll have is a lit nickel block along with the number 53. So a piece of aluminum ,beaver tails, gold ring and can slaw can still lite up the nickel notch but give you an ID number from 50 to 55.

When my AT Pro first arrived the ground was frozen and covered with about 2 feet of snow. So I did some air tests on various objects to see how the Target ID displayed on them and I printed it out in credit card size and laminated it. I keep it with me in my wallet but I plan on taping it to my AT Pro. It's a good guideline but not perfect. Depth, soil conductivity, coins on edge, etc can make it read otherwise. But here is what I came up with.

AT Pro Digital Target ID

Number Target
15 Washer
35 Nail
35-45 Foil
52 Nickel
53 Barber V
54 Small 14k Gold Ring
57 Large 14K Gold Ring
61 Indian Head Cent
66 Pop Tab
68-70 CW Minnie Ball
73 Small Silver Ring
70-75 Bottle Cap
74 Rev War British Musket Ball
75 Copper US Cent
80 King George Half Cent
82 Clad Dime
83 Mercury Silver Dime
85 Clad/Barber Quarter
88 Pre-1964 Silver Quarter
90 Clad Half Dollar/Large US Cent
92 Kennedy Half Pre-1964
96 Morgan Silver Dollar
