I'm planning a trip to Arizona and would like to know if anyone has used the Sovereign GT for gold prospecting,and if so,was it a good machine for this???What size coil??? Bob

Bob,

All metal detectors will find gold nuggets, if they are large enough, and shallow enough. I don't think the Sovereign series would be a very good choice for Arizona nuggets, but I would suggest posting this question on the Aussie forum here on FindMall. You will probably get a better response from experienced nugget hunters over there.

or the guys with the big bucks go with the sd or gp minelab series - these seem to really get the job done, just .............$$$$

colorado guys like the whites

try googling gold in arizona or arizona metal detectors - there are many detector (gold outfitter) stores out that way.

The Sov GT is supposed to be able to find nuggets better than the older Sovs. I would team it up with a 5" coil, such as our 5" DD Excelerator.

I read that in one of the field test reports. Said it was designed to be also used for prospecting. The "T" stands for TREASURE!
