Question ??? BBS versus FBS

Serge

New member
Hi,

I am an Excal user and now looking for replacing my wife's MXT detector.
She love the multitone respond and the built-in bias against iron of the Excal. but way to heavy for here.

The Sovereign GT have the same feature of the Excal, but at 4.4 lbs it may be to heavy yet.

The Safari have the good weigh shape for here BUT is the FBS give the same audio as the BBS ????

She will do some wet sand, but mostly dry sand.

Thank you Serge

You could always just hip mount either of them, makes a big difference, only the rod and coil to carry then, or maybe a swingythingy harnes, takes all the wieght and you just guide it, they do pull a bit at the extreme end of the swing but you get used to it.

Yes thank you Kered

That was i use a home maid swingythingy .It work very good .

She want a Plug and play machine. No hip mount or any attache.

I own both the Excalibur and the Safari. The sounds are not the same. The Safari is more like a symphony of sounds as compared to the Excalibur and the tone is different. It is a great turn on and go detector and it is great in dry and wet sand but takes some getting used to, to learn the sounds. the only similar thing is hi and the low conductivity sound.

Thank you Hardtack

With the Excal, i can reject about 90% of the bottle caps with the coil control. Is the Safari can do the same? With the MXT (Withes electronic) it was about 50% only

Yes

May not be the good answer but the Xterras weigh less than 3 lbs. I like mine. Am thinking about a BBS or FBS to go with it.
