Question about Watches

OUTATIME

Member
Since I got the minelab I've checked several things off of my "to-find" list. Necklaces, gold rings, silver rings, bracelets, even a grill for teeth. But one thing I always see other people finding is watches.

Question, Where do watches identify at? Do they come up as iron, penny, nickel, quarters, or are they all over the board? I don't always dig the iron stuff but I was thinking that maybe this is why I've never gotten a watch??

Where in the scale do most watches come up? Also, are most watches found in the deeper surf and not so much on the wet sand?

Thanks in advance..

There's a lot of different metal in the average watch, so the signal is usually all over the place. The case is generally stainless steel, so it's going to be a broken and crackly signal, the steel being iron but the innards having other metals. And there's the band to consider too. I've found about 6 really nice watches. 4 men's and 2 ladies. I have two I wear and my wife has a couple she wears. All were found in the wet sand, deep. A couple had dead batteries and were completely undamaged.

If you have an excaliber sometimes they come in very clear. Sometimes they are warbly sounding and being down the beach you should dig it even if it sounds weird. Hey not everyone finds watches. If you find a watch like Max did your ears will get blown off because it looks like a heavy watch. Good luck! You will find a watch someday.

Thanks...those were just the ones that were actually nice and WORKED. There were others that were ruined, but what good are they?

Here another one that was good that I couldn't find a picture of the other day. All of these were found deep in the wet sand at low tide, by the way. Some had been under water for a while...either dead battery or in two cases, they were an hour off on the time or a day off on the date! So had been there through a time or month change...and still worked!

This is on of the two I wear every day...I alternate this with the blue Relic watch, depending on what I'm wearing. :)
