Question About Using Rechargeable Batteries

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
Had a question about using rechargeable 9 Volt batteries in a Silver uMax.

I remember reading that you should not use Lithium -ion batteries in some electronic systems - only NiMH batteries.
Are there any restrictions on what types of rechargeable batteries can be used in Tesoro machines ?

Thanks !

never used the recharge ones. detecting from april till mid october. i used about 15 or 16 dollars worth of the energizer max batteries in a vaquero. and that was just regular hunting, not everyday. but on weekends. one or two evenings a week after work. i understand that the hours of use from a recharge one will be less than a regular.

Buy some eneloops or Tenergy Low Self discharge Batteries and never have to buy another High Dollar Alkline again. These Low Discharge batteries regardless of 9V or AA will last just about as long as the Alklines and you can recharge them anytime. Don't buy regular NICADs they discharge with no use too quickly.

I use them in everything from my Whites V3i to the TRX Pinpointer.

Very good info there...... Lithium batteries have a higher voltage and not sure what it would do to a metal detector
Something like this is good or look around for a better deal if you want

stay awayt from the NICads.... they die off too quickly
