There is only 1 "profile" setting. You can modify all of the factory modes and it retains those settings until you change them again. The profile button is for saving one special group of settings for a mode. You can then switch back and forth to it without scrolling through the entire mode list. It can also be totally unique from all the other modes. Say for instance you want a special setup using the Beach1 mode for land hunting, but you only want to use it for special situations or to interrogate a target differently. Then you hit the mode button to go to those settings. When youre done you just switch right back to your normal hunting mode.
