Question about TID and the T2.

The other detectors I have used with a TID or a meter always solidly lock onto a number if I find a Minnie of any size but the T2 will not lock onto a number. It jumps around in the 60s and 70s and 80s but mostly the 70s with the occasional 73, in which case I dig and usually it's a bullet. Today I was hunting with a friend who was using an MXT. I dropped a teardrop bullet and a pistol sized Minnie one ringer. The MXT locked solid onto them and the T2 jumped all around. I am learning to tell what it's saying but I cannot understand why it will not lock on. It could be the site. It has unusually high iron. It consistantly read's 1.0% iron at this site and maybe that's the problem. I tried it at home and it still jumps around though no as wildly, it stays around the low 70s and upper 60s hitting 73 every 6 or 7 times a number come's up. Still, the MXT and the Soverign GT with a Digimeter both lock solidly onto a number and stay there.
Could there be a problem with my T2 or is this just the way they work?

Thanks,

Julien
