Question About Threshold

After I set my Sov. GT to a threshold tone and lower it to the ground it goes quiet in my yard but on the beach it is fine. Is this normal or just bad soil? Any positive input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Most likly your near a piece of iron or electrical connection. I have a hard time around my yard as there is crap everywheres under the soil.

Yea, either iron or perhaps you've got the sensitivity too high. Easiest way to tell is to keep sweeping over the same spot where the threshold goes quiet (do this SLOWLY). If it doesn't keep nulling in the same spot and sometimes don't, then that's a sure sign you have your sensitivity too high or you are sweeping to fast. Whenever the threshold starts dropping out don't assume it's just iron or too high of sensitivity. Try slowing down to a crawl and see if it stays that way. Some soils require a very slow sweep or it will keep dropping out, no matter how low you set sensitivity, and even if there is no iron. Also, the higher the sensitivity the slower you need to sweep in order to keep the threshold stable.
