Question about the Vaquero.

Was wondering why there are 2 models (high and low tone). Which one is prefered and why?

Some people prefer the high tone, and some prefer the low. It's a personal preference. If you buy the Tejon, you can adjust the tone to whatever you prefer.

My Vaquero came with the low tone. But I recently bought a Tejon and adjusted the tone according to Scully's instructions and notice iron was much easier to detect by sound. So If I were going to buy another Vaquero, I would buy the high tone.
 
Can't you get it modded ? I would be surprised if you couldn't. I have seen one company here offering that mod' for tesoro's.
