Question about the use of the Tejon...

Since the Tejon operates in silent search discrimination mode - if you are using discrimination as the primary search mode - how can you tell if the ground balance drifted off?
I guess you'd have to squeeze the trigger in all metal mode and check the GB?

I dont have a Tesoro yet - I have a Tejon on the way. I didnt realize this is a silent search disc machine. Hmmmmm..... maybe I should have gone with the Vaquero?

I will be using it for relic hunting in fields and deep woods, and for coin hunting arond houses and parks.

checking the GB isnt that big of a deal when hunting in Disc. Just pull that trigger back when hunting in Disc. and bob that coil up and down to check. The trigger is supposed to be for pinpointing, but it works the same as a GB mode. And, if you want to hear a threshold all the time, just switch to A.M., but then again, you get to hear every chunck of iron, so, nevermind:)

Just so know, the Vaquero is a silent search machine as well. In fact, all the current Tesoro machines are "silent search", but dont say it like its a bad thing. Silent search makes it great to know when you get a faint, deep target.
