Question about the true feeling for F2 detector?

Hello I'm trying to make up my mind on the Fisher f2 Detector or the Bounty Hunter Draw 2? The Pro's and con's if possible. I'm new to the detecting field and would like to start out with a quality machine. Any Help would be great. Minnesota Bound and Hunting...

Buy a cz3d,and you never have to upgrade. You asked for quality, the 3d is top notch quality, the 3d is 2 detectors in one modern digging, and pre 1950 digging, this unit runs with 2 khz,5 and 15.for high cond coins, and low cond coins the 2 detectors you stated only uses 1 khz. Also she runs quiet and is as deep as the $1200.00 detectors. Also the tid is on the money. You can find one used in price ranges from $400.00 to $500.00.You will never have to upgrade.

I'm not familiar with the Bounty Hunter, but I had an F 2 and upgraded to an F 5. The F 2 is a heck of a machine for the money. You can still find some of the ones available with the Christmas package that includes a 4" coil for the $199 price tag. Has very good depth. Comparable to machines costing LOTS more. It would hit a six inch deep dime in my test garden that gave many more expensive machines trouble. It's simple to operate. Light weight. My only mild complaint was the notch was not terribly user friendly, but avter using it several times, I got the hang of it. Depth meter was right on the money and the TID was very good. I'd recommend it over any other machine in that price range IMHO.

Spend the extra money and get the F5 that way in time you can get an f70 but for now the F5 is the way to go it is very close to the F75 for relic and turf hunting if not better for turf in fact it is better for parks and schools. But if you want to relic hunt I don't think the F2 or F4 can hold a candel to the F5. If you don't have the money then wait till you do.

I'm not an expert but I would say buy the F2 or the Ace 250. Good
machines, in my opinion.

"Well, what are you waiting for?"

Don't know if this matters to you or not but the 250 will drive many detectors nuts if you get within 15 feet of them. I have hunted in competition hunts with the F2 and had no complaints. The F2s depth meter is a little off but it easily pinpoints right on. On the 250 the pinpointing takes a little time to figure out. They are both good machines but if you hunt with others I'm sure they would appreciate it if you bought a F2.

I happen to like the F2 and for the money is a fantastic value. I hunt many older trash infested sites and at some areas the older targets are relatively shallow but horribly masked by iron, hotrocks, and tons of modern trash. If your targets are within 5" depth the 4" coil is outstanding especially if using "0" disc and allow those excellent tones provide the disc. The F2 doesn't seem phased by many of the rocks that cause a lot of disruption to other detectors in my area and iron targets are easily discernable. I prefer the clean target checkoff vs the Garrett belltone on highcoin targets and the 4 tones are better understood than the Tesoro Golden uMax, and as much as like the Whites M6 the F2 tones have more clarity and the numerical ID is fairly accurate within the 4"to 5" of the 4" coil.

The bottom line for me is the F2 is not a topline detector but give me a 5" depth parameter at a trashy site the F2 is capable of humbling some much higher priced detectors. I rarely use the 8" coil as i prefer other detectors for overall depth but you asked your true feeling about the F2 and i'm just sayin. HH Bill

Pinpointing with the Ace 250.
Yes, for some reason many people do have a problem. I have been fortunate not
to have the same difficulty. When I pinpoint I always find the target directly under,
almost dead center, where the rod meets with and connects to the coil. I also use
a hand held pinpointer to probe if I can't find it in the hole.
Good Luck.
