Question about the original Tesoro El Dorado

colt

New member
I know a guy in Sun City, Az that is selling an original El Dorado, it has a black square control box and comes with three coils. I though about buying it, but I would like to get some information on it before I buy it.

The original ElDorado had a chocolate brown rectangular box, mounted unter the shaft (at least mine did), and it was a AWESOME detector for relics! The only draw back was it's weight, and a very sore elbow at the end of the day. This machine, however, was lightning fast in recovery speed from null (bad targets) to tone (good targets)....which meant that I could find a military button, bullet, coin, token, ring etc., right next to a piece of iron or nail. Sometimes, even in the same hole. Today, Tesoro has taken much more modern technology in the Vaquero, in a much lighter and better balanced machine, and has even surpassed the performance of the ElDorado. Deep, fast, smart, and light weight....hard to ask for more.

Thanks Chuck

I have a lot hours on an LST, and have found buckets of keepers, I have also used a lot of other detectors, I have a chance to buy the old Eldorado at a good price. I admit it, I am addicted to metal detecting, I guess I am just trying to justify feeding the habit.

Snap that puppy up, as long as you're sure it's in good working order.....awesome machine.
