Question about the "O" ring

Blink

Member
I read a while back that there is a replacement "O" ring you can get for the connector end of the coils. The "O" ring that comes with the coils have stretched out and are almost impossible to seat properly. I like to change coils but It takes longer to change coils then its worth. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Blink

Most auto parts stores sell silicone rubber O Rings for auto airconditioning work. Regular O rings may not be silicone rubber and the silicone grease will attack them.

Contact Garrett about getting the proper sized "O" ring.

They are 7/16 OD x 1/16 thick o-rings Garrett told me. So I bought a bag of 100 silicone ones. I bought them at dub dub dub dot mcmastercarr dot kom or maybe your auto parts store? Then go to your local Lowe's and buy the silicone plumbers grease back in the plumbing section. You will be set.

Just a consideration on the O rings and putting your connector back together.... DONT do it at the beach. Make sure that there is NO SAND anywhere in your threads, pins, connection points or any place near the plugs. Sand will grind in and give you the fits, it wont allow anything to thread up and seat properly.

Ask me how I know....
