question about the NEL Sharpshooter Coil 5.5"x9.5" For MINELAB SOVEREIGN Detectors:

coinscratcher

New member
does anyone use this coil on there sovereign detector i have heard any report on it and are they better than the 8" toronado coil. Thanks for your help

I used one on a Excalibur in saltwater...not good, so I put the Sov connector back on and tested it to make sure all was correct. Seems to be as good if not better then the stock 800 with a brief yard test. And let me do a compare, the ULT 13 is a killer, At the beach I can go thru gridded areas and find deep targets that other machines have missed, GTZer from PA witnessed.... but take the 13 in saltwater...your good to about one foot after that..no way, to much chatter. So it seems the little NEL has the same issue, Hot on Land, sand and just into the water, but deeper..No way. Because each will not work in the saltwater I am guessing the little NEL is a Hottie...

It's almost 1/2 the weight of the Tornado 1000 Slimline Coil 22.9oz (650gms) and close in size. Can't comment on the performance as I never owned one.
It's even lighter than the tornado 800 17.6oz (500gms). If it performs anything like the tornado series it would definitely be worth picking up with less weight to boot!
