Question about the MXT......................

Kelley (Texas)

New member
Does the MXT have tone I.D. and does it have the Notch provision in discrimination. I can not find this information in the literature provided by White's Electronics. Kelley (Texas) :)

Hi Kelly,

In relic mode the MXT will grunt for targets below where you set the DISC. It chirps for target above the DISC setting. That is the only tone ID that I am aware of.

In C/J mode with the trigger forward I think it will notch out pull tabs.

I am not absolutely sure about this info. Hope you get some responses frome people above my paygrade. ha

Single tone ID except for relic mode, it has ferrous and nonferrous tones, Disc is a knob you turn by hand, it has several presets for above and below nickel range. The M6 has 7 tones and a single tone. Good luck.

In relic mode with the trigger locked forward the low tone(anything below disc setting) is supressed,\.
