QUESTION ABOUT THE INFINIUMS LOWER ROD!

bottlebum

New member
I've heard alot about the Infinium having a wobbly lower rod. Is it that bad and if so is there an aftermarket rod that cures the problem?
Just curious.....

I haven't really had any problems with mine wobbling. If you run the coil wire up the lower rod straight up for about 18 inches, taping in every couple of inches, the slight give shouldn't pose a problem. however, some have reinforced the lower rod using another screw and wing nut to further stabilize the rod.

I have never in my life had so much trouble in deciding on a detector to buy. I have been checking all of the forums, going through reviews on different makes and models, reading literature, picking the brains of members of this forum and I still can't make up my mind.I thought I had finally decided on the Sovereign GT but now I'm thinking the Infinium might be better for me since I live in Florida. I have owned a Sovereign xs and know that they are capable machines but I am now thinking that I might get better depth with the Infinium, which I feel is pretty important here in Fl. where things seem to be really deep because of the sandy soil.
Does anyone know of a good THEREPY forum?
Sorry, I just had to vent a little.

It is very deep. I have one and also an Excal and Quattro. You won't want to use the Infinium in a trashy site, but it is fine in the water.

John, thanks for your reply. I'm ok now because I finally made up my mind and bought the Sovereign Gt. I figure now I can start saving for the underwater detector.:smoke:
