Question about the Golden and adding a manuel GB

Hi Everyone

I have been contimplating adding a 3 3/4 manuel GB to my Golden. I've heard that it will only effect the the all metal mode and others have said it will effect both disc and all metal modes. Was hoping that one of the Tesoro pro's could enlighten me.

Thanks,
Ray(Ca)

if memory serves me correctly.

A modification done right should work out 'OK'.

Monte

Monte is correct, the ground balance affects both modes. I've posted before that my ground is so mild that every preset ground balance detector I've had, including the Golden, was preset quite a bit too positive, and some way too positive, which resulted in a loss of depth on higher conductive targets. I added manual ground balance to a couple of others but on the Golden I just pulled the faceplate up and adjusted the internal pot. Easy to do and made a substantial difference in depth, especially on dimes.

I have read somewhere else that the Cibola has a trimmer pot under the face plate like the golden.
Is this true?

Thanks

Mike

No I do not, sorry. Changing the GB in the discrimate mode will affect the ID reading properly on the Cortes.
