question about the AT PRO

I have been really looking to buy a A T Pro or AT Gold. I live in Colorado and will probably be trying some creek detecting. I need to get some feed back from someone who owns ether of these machines, To find out 2 things. 1. do you have to have the AT Gold to find Gold and is the Gold really worth the extra money and 2. how long is the warranty on these as far as water proofing goes. has anybody had any issues with them quitting dew to water damage.

I own both and have used both in the water extensively. One of my AT Pro's developed a leak in the faceplate, but Garrett repaired it and it's done just fine since. If you are planning to do a lot of prospecting, go with the Gold. You will want the true all metal and threshold that it has that the Pro doesn't. Both rigs will easily find gold if it's there, the ATG will do a better job on the really tiny stuff, that's what it was designed for. If you go with the Pro, get the 5 x 8 coil for it, it's a little beast!!

gotta love the 5/8 in the woods it works between stuff so well

I've had no problems with my At/Pro and use it mostly in the water. No leaks or anything. Haven't used the At/Gold yet. GL & HH.

I use the AT Pro in the water have had no leaks, have not had any customer complaints on the AT Pro.
Finds gold rings real good. Should try the 5 x 8 coil on my AT Pro may just find targets small enough for me.
AT Gold is real sensitive to small gold which I test one at a GPAA gold show.
