Question about mixed mode or stereo mixed mode and discrimination

While running in mixed mode or stereo mixed mode can you use single frequency and also can you discriminate certain VDI's on the discrimination side? For example you want to hear all metal in one ear but you only want to hear coins in the other ear while discriminating out pull tabs or foil. Thanks.

I believe with what you are asking it is yes. I have mine set up in blocks of tones and Iron tone at 5 and hunt fields in stereo M M With good luck. I still dig iron mainly because I just gotta know out in the field. Yazoo

Stereo mixed mode has all metal in one ear and Disc mode in the other. Anything you can do in regular discrimination mode you can do in stereo mixed mode in the ear that is not all metal. You can also switch which ear is all metal.

I had a similar question with this. For example if we have a pull tab for target, is it possible we know from discrimination or vdi that the target is a kind of metal with zero iron in it? Well the answer is yes from analyzing the target with polar plot or three frequencies. discriminating out +18 to +24 for pull tabs or near, it would be in All Metal, Mixed Mode in other words, so you will hear it but not with it' s tone id. Is n't right that Rob?

If it was in Mixed Mode, 18 to 24 would not be heard in discrimination. A 18 to 24 target would sound in the all metal and all metal has one tone. The vdi would show on the screen.

I am sorry about that. I meant Rejecting from +18 to +24 or somewhere near for pull tabs, it's tone will be in All metal when using mixed mode so you will hear it but not with it's tone id.

Correct.
