Question About Minelab Excaliber 800

I purchased a used Minelab Excaliber 800 a couple of weeks ago. The machine seems to work great. I found a '48 dime and a sterling silver ring already. I do a lot of land hunting and wonder if anyone has advice on proper discrimination in a trashy area. Also, any other tips would be greatly appreciated. I am not new to treasure hunting, but I am new to the Excaliber 800. Thanks in advance for any help! Happy Huntintg!!!

Thats a tough one as most people hunt water with a water machine and the kind of garbage on land is plentyful. The Sov being a close cousin to it might be better to check in with them over there. Dan

I have the excal. 800 as well and it works for me on land. It's real advantage is it's made to be in water but it will work fine for a land machine. I was finding coins in my front yard with it. It's no explorer but it's not bad. I think about 6 inches is about the deepest target.
