Question about iFinder H2O for Andrew or anyone

Hi All

I just bought the Lowrance iFinder H2O
Because of this forum.

I was trying to set my home waypoint
the manual tells me to just press (ENT)
in easy mode to see the option to set
the home waypoint but when I do press (ENT)
even several times it does nothing.

In advanced mode pressing (ENT) offers to set
regular numbered waypoints only.

Is ther any other way to get to the (save home waypoint menu)

Thanks Rick

Are you sure that you are in Easy mode???? because, if you are, a short press on the Enter brings the "Save as Home waypoint Y / N" menu. If it doesn'tm there is something wrong with your receiver.
In the Advanced mode, you can name waypoints whatever you like. The numbered name is just a default name given by the receiver.

Andy

Thanks for the reply
yes I am in easy mode and it still does not work
I tried resetting the unit to the default settings
still no help.

Maybe I should try and update the firmware but this
unit is brand new and has the latest version.

I could try it anyway in case mine is corrupted
How do I do that is there a cable I need?
I see the download on the Lowrance site.

Thanks
Rick Kirby

Actually, it's Andrew, not Andy.

Updating / reloading the firmware often solves problems with unusual device behaviour so, go for it.
Updating firmware in iFinders is easy. The instructions are with the download. Basically, you save the update on the memory card, insert it into the receiver, turn the receiver ON and the receiver automatically reads and performs the update.

Hi Andrew and all

I called Lowrance tech support
They said my problem was a bug with
the current firmware version and
will be corrected with the next release
He said he could send the updated firmware
on a SD chip and I could load it on my unit
and them just return it to them as soon as
its available.

Thanks for the help
Rick
