Question about GTI 2500........................................

Have an older 2500 without the chip upgrade. Been noticing lately that I'm getting a lot of overloads lately. I can cancel out the first 4 inches and it still picks up nails at 2 inches with the audio and scale. Do any of you 2500 owners have the same problem. It might be time to send it in fer a checkup. But I hate to do that right at the beginning of tecting season. O well I still have the yeller feller for backup. Any advice is appriciated.

Get the chip upgrade. It's well worth it. Then you can hunt the nastiest ground there is.

It sounds like you might need a tuneup. Bill is right about getting the upgrade so you can work the 2500 in high mineralized soil...Go for it

I tend to dig very shallow size B and C overload settings because large, shallow, coin spills sometimes give that signal. With my 4.5 scorcher, quarters and nickels frequently give overload signals less than 2 inches.

I think the turn around on the upgrade is less than 2 weeks. I guess that would have been easier to manage in January. Good luck.
