question about Garretts arm strap

MrGee

New member
Does anybody use the arm strap? I've never used it because I lay down and pick up the detector so many times during a hunt that it would be a major hinderance. Just wondered if anybody uses it. Maybe a need some kid to dig the targets that I locate, then I wouldn't have to lay the detector down, bend over, kneel down, etc. Yeah...that's what I need.

Hmm, since I set mine down all the time to dig because I can't use my left arm much, I wonder if I can teach my beagle pup to dig coins? :clapping:

I don't think any of my machines have an armrest strap. Seems to me like it would just get in the way.:wiggle: The machines that I use aren't even made to have an armrest strap. Oh well. Happy Hunting!:)

MrGee I'm not gonna mention any names but there's a certain member among us who has his own trained digger, his wife. He does the hunting, marks the spot, continues on his way and she follows behind just diggin away. It works for them.

That's greatUncle Willy. Let's see..you keep the detector in one hand, your digger in one hand, the pro pointer in one hand and you sift through the dirt with one hand.... hmmm...you woulnd't happen to live close the the big nuclear power plant would you?

:usaflag:I removed mine the first day I used it. It's been in the backpack ever since.

Like Bruce, mine just lays flat in the bottom of the cup.

Here's an interesting mod by a member though, I can see this being handy at times (have chronic carpal/cubital tunnel).

sounds like the strap is not widly used. Charles could save a couple of bucks and just leave it off as far as I'm concerned. Its more of a hassle than a help. Because of the way the Ace is balanced, I see no need for it.

My ACe had an arm strap i tired it for
about 1/2 hr then just put my arm in
the rest ... easier and quicker
