Question About Fast & Deep

I see were Mike Moutray says he runs Deep and Fast On and in clean area's he will turn fast off! Why would one turn off fast in a clean area?

Mike turning fast off in clean areas allows the detector not to re-set as quickly as it re-sets in the fast setting. This allows the detector to git a little better depth, and also lets the detector look at the target a little longer. Also deep on supposedly gives a more accurate ID of the target.
