How do you adjust the disc.On the E trec..I see a graph do you have target numbers....Im really looking to get an Etrac...just would like how it works the iding ground balance .
Hows the average depth 7/// 8 inches.....

Hi LS, The graph you see shows you your disc. Black area is disced out. White area is accepted. There are reprogrammed patterns that come with the detector that you can use and modify to different situations. Yes there are two target ID numbers. First is a ferrous reading and the second is a conductive reading. The ferrous gives you a better idea of what kind of metal is giving you signal or if there's is other influencing things in the ground around your target. The conductive is similar to the single reading most detectors give you. I'm kind of new to the e-trac myself so maybe somebody else will chime in here. When you read the manual it explains all of that and more. Depth- I've seen guys pull stuff up regularly at 8" to 10+" on several forums. Depends on your soil and other contributing factors.

Couple of other things to mention is the ETrac emulator that is free to download. It also has diffrent target set you can use. It's free and just like adjusting/using the ETrac. http://www.thebeepgoeson.com/index.htm

One must have once you have an ETrac is Andys book. It also helps the learning curve. I still go back to it after all this time.

Is your emulator the same program that a user interacts with a program that looks like an actual E-Trac and all its operations? I downloaded it and I must be missing something. Please send any info that can help me. I ma a 1st time user of E-Trac... hopefully for a little while today... but it is 32 degrees out? Thanx, MIke
