Question about E TRAC

Hi im now using the V3 and dont like it you really have to do alot of adjustments to get a good depth out of it and keep making them...How is the
dept on the E TRAC??? will it run its self???Betten than the V3 .Whats the IDing like how does the IDing work...I have spent a lot of money on detectors and i just cant find the one for me the only detector i kind of like is the DFX but the depth is not so good.....Thanks guys.........

I got the E-trac and have never looked back. With a little reading and using it was very easy to use. I also started to find a lot of silver when I started using it. Hope this helps

I think the e trac is very user friendly!
The ID works on tones and a cursor that jumps around on the screen to tell you
the properties of the target-Plus,a ferrous and conductive rating of the target also
in numerical.such as 12-47,12 being the ferrous rating and 47 the conductive.
and through learning and charts one would know that it was probably silver!

I really would like to try the E TRAC and most of my THing is for silver ....Thanks for the info........

All of the above and
I started with the DFX, liked it alot and got good hits
But after seeing the performance and depth of the Minelabs at a group hunt
I swithched and started with the Minelab Se but quickly went to the E Trac which I LUV
I had little time to detect before the snow came but the time I had proved the depth and superiority of the E Trac
good luck

From an ex V3 user and now ETrac owner, get ahold of Andy's Minelab book and as shwebb said,"dont look back".

I bought the V3i back in August and used it for about 2 weeks and then bought the E Trac. I sold the V3i the day after I bought the E Trac and I will never look back.

I have no experience with the V-3 so can't make any comments about that machine.

I do have some experience with the E-Trac and it is to say the least an extremely user friendly detector. If you never use anything but the factory mode patterns you will find plenty of good coins and tokens. A little practice and some Patience and asking questions on this forum will help with learning different pattern's and like someone has already recommended get Andy Sabisch's E-Trac hand book, there is a world of good information in that book and make sure you read the owners manual, and keep them both handy for reference.

You will be shocked at the depth capabilities of this machine, you will love the Iron Mask, and the Quick Mask Programs they are the best back savers I've ever seen and the most useful in helping determine to or not to dig some iffy targets close to iron. I have dug many targets with iron laying right across or next to a good target and the E-Trac picked it out.

Buy one you won't be sorry. Rick "IL"

Didn't have time to edit post to get this in, but to help you with concerns about the E-Trac's depth ability and it's ability to pick up small targets I have uploaded a photo of a find I made late this fall. The picture is of a less then 3/8x3/8's Silver Frat Charm for a bracelet I found that was 5 inch's deep. Had I not had a good pin pointer it would have been very difficult to locate, so if you get a E-Trac get a good pin pointer. Rick "IL"
