Question about:detecting:Tesoro Tiger Shark

When I switch to motion des should I lose my thresh hold? I am still trying to figure it out. I have no one local to ask questions to. My 6 year old grandson and I went out for about 1/2 hour. Found a couple nails some pull tabs and 1/2 wheat penny. My house is about 150 years old. In the back yard I can see they dump old clinkers from coal stove. Can the burnt coal affect my ground balance?

beenpiken,

I've owned the Tiger shark since they first came out with them, The TS is a silent search motion disc. The threshold sound... you can hear it only in the slow/fast all-metal mode. And yes the coal clinkers will have an effect on the ground balance. I set my ground balnce per the manual, and the threshold should remain neutral/same threshold sound as you lower coil to the ground. I never use the all-metal for pinpointing, just X the target in motion disc. mode. hope this helps.
