Question about DD7.5 coil

Elton

New member
Is this coil worth buying for the 70. I have the 3 and do not need the 18.5.no gold here. Please give me your opinion on the DD 7.5. If so why?
Where would I get one???????
Thank you,
Elton

DD coils are an excellent choice for those hunting in areas with higher mineralization levels. The design characteristics of DD coils allow them to operate more effectively in highly mineralized areas. The windings of the DD coil are smaller than a similarly sized concentric coil. And, the transmit coil windings are isolated from the receive coil windings. As a result, a portion of the ground signal is canceled. Depending the mineralization of the areas you are hunting, a DD might serve you well.
For the areas I hunt, the concentrics work just fine. However, if I am hunting in an extremely trashy area, I like smaller DD coils for their separation characteristics. HH Randy

Having a variety of coils is always a good thing my man & having a DD coil regardless of the Khz is a must. Why? Well Digger pretty much explains that story right there & to put my 2 cents worth in the mix limiting yourself to one coil is like eating a vegimite sandwich everyday.....now I love my vegimite but sometimes I do prefer peanut butter and honey if you get my drft! So now you have your answers go find some coins and get yourself a DD coil.......you wont be disapointed!
Ciao!

There is no question in my mind that the 7.5 DD coil is a must have for any type of field hunting or areas greater than an average lawn.
In my opinion, the 10.5" round DD coil is what makes the X-Terra70 the best it can be for my type of hunting.

Made you look :wiggle: Here is my set up for those that have not seen the DD coil in question.
