Question about CTX menu Figured it out!

A friend has let me use his CTX for the next week or so I was trying to familiarise myself with the menu options but I could not seem how to figure out how to call up the screen that shows options like Ferrous coin, ground coin etc. I need a step by step method of doing this. I did look at the manual I printed off the Minelab site but to me it does not seem clear....or maybe I am just a bit obtuse!

Well I figured it out thanks anyway.

Any tips before I go out late this morning to do my first hunt....I have used the E-Trac for a couple of years.

Best tip I can give, the E-Trac will pay off once in awhile digging iffy targets. If the CTX says its trash and it is jumpy... Almost always it's junk!

Well Tony.... what results??

Are you going to take the CTX plunge? I think you could pass the E-Trac down to Mr. Malachi and he would be a happy young man.

I agree with Bart (yet again :drinking:). The CTX seems to be much better than the E-Trac regarding iffy signals not being good. Yes I have dug some good targets, and lately, that were iffy, but the CTX is right the vast majority of the time.

We only had time for a couple of hours to hunt with it, went to the park where Diane got her 1805 Draped Bust Large Cent but only was able to get about a buck in clad. Very difficult place to hunt, I was using a combine mode my friend had put on I might make some changes to it and save it under a different mode that way he can just delete it if he wants. I don't think I found anything that the E-Trac would not have found but that is probably mostly to my lack of experience with the CTX. I could tell it is better balance than the E-Trac for sure. I have a couple of other places to try it out on but I am hoping for some rain soon because it is super dry.

good luck bud..
