Question about Coil fit

Just wanted to know just in case I have a chance to pick up another Minelab on sale. Or find one in a garage sale..

I have a Sovereign Gt and would like to know what other Minelab machine will except my coil without any fabrication ?? is their some kind of chart

The only coils that will work for the Sovereigns are ones made for the Sovereigns only. The other coils for other Minelabs will not work on the Sovereigns and any Sovereigns coils will work on any of the model Sovereigns. If you find any used Sun Ray coils they will have a S on them, like S-5, S-8 and the S-12, those for the Explorers will have a X on them and the cable will be twisted.

hi Ron,
any coil that is for the Sovereigns will work on the Excalibur, but of course the plug has to be modified or hardwired to the Excal. They are the only 2 Minelab detectors that operate on the BBS 17 fequency system. The Explorers, Safaris, Etrac, and the new CTX 3030 are all FBS 28 frequency units and like Rick stated, they have a curled, or pigtail type coil wire, not a straight coil wire like the Sovereign & Excal.

hope this helps,
hh,
George
