question about coil depth comparison

Hey all,
I am trying to decide on another coil for my M6 to increase depth. I have the 6x10 DD and use it primarily, but am looking at the round 10"DD from Whites and the 10"DD Excelerator coil. Does anyone have any experience with either one of these coils? Any help about the depth would be very much appreciated.
thanks,
Jon

I've used the 10" Excelerator and wrote a field test for this coil. I also know someone who has used both and he is in the know. They perform almost identical in all ways but one. If you have a Vision ( Spectra V3) the Excelerator is not guaranteed to work with its boost feature, but neither are Whites coils without the V stamp. The D2 is held to tighter nulling specs so it won't overload with the boost. For the M6 the 10"EX will work GREAT. Rob

I have the 10" Excelerator and it does go deeper then the 6 X 10 about 3", but I still prefer the 6 X 10 because it separates the trash better then the 10". Just my opinion........

I got out a little today and hunted my daughter's yard. I've got it hunted out unless the coins are deeper than I can get. Anyway I put he 10" EX on because the shallow targets are gone. I found two quarters 71, 84 at 6". I also found two wheat pennies a 44 and 46 at 8" and 10". I was sure the deep wheat must be a bigger deep piece of junk when it came out with the last inch of dirt. Rob

For what it's worth, I have two (2) favorites from White's, and three (3) or four (4) favorites from the Excelerator line. For some it will come down to what their hunting needs dictate. Site conditions (brushy, open, grassy, etc.) as well as the target count to deal with (sparse targets few and far between Vs densely targeted site with both desirables and trash), and then factor in the likely target positioning (shallow targets, Vs older and possibly deeper targets in a low-target site).

My #1 favorite coil from White's is the 5.3 Eclipse. This is a 6

Thanks a lot Monte! What do you think the advantages/disadvantages when comparing the Whites 10"DD and the 10" DD Excelerator. I use the Whites 6x10 in trashy areas, but am looking to buy a coil that I can use in less trashy areas to get a bit more depth. Thanks to everyone that is helping me make a decision. This forum is always so much help when I have a question.
Thanks a bunch,
Jon
