question about beach sand in between coil cover on Sovereign GT.

Does this cause falsing? Got my first series of falsing ever today at the beach. cleaned out coil cover and everything was fine. Just want to know if anyone else noticed this.

Take Care

Yes Jason that is why a lot of people will toss the coil cover and apply either marine epoxy, bed liner spray or both. Even it you try to seal the coil cover sand will eventually get in and then you will really have a problem .ALL OF THE ABOVE WILL VOID YOUR WRRANTY

Jason - After having lots of falsing issues with my Excal (even after cleaning the sand out), I took the cover off for my last three hunts and haven't had any problems. My coil cover would fill up with sand every 5 minutes. On my Sov GT, the coil cover on my 10 x 12 SEF coil fits like a glove and no sand even gets in it. No falsing issues with it at all.

Why bother with the coil cover then?

Just go without it ??
If you do a lot of hunting you will wear a hole in your coil, ding it or split it remember LOW & slow & for me LOW means SCRUB

Ya I was thinking the same thing why use the cover at all. The cost of a new coil isn't that much as compared to the hassle one gets from the sand. If you hunt a lot like some of us then the cost isn't a factor at all. On another note my Excalibur with that yellow cover fills up in five minutes also. The GT with the same coil but black cover gets very little sand even after 6 hrs hunting even in the water? I am going to switch covers and see if it follows. If the black one works better I am going to buy another one.
