Continued my quest for old silver today after work as I was skunked yesterday. Right after work I made a bee line to my spot for old silver, we got a little rain last night and the ground was nice and soft. Targets were few but I was after that deep signal that says the DeLeon hit silver! The area that I was hunting is about 8 yards wide by 50 yards long and I have pulled 3 quarters and 10 or so dimes all from the late 30's to mid 50's. First deep signal came from a area where the sidewalk used to be and the DeLeon screamed silver about 8" I know there is deep silver so I was careful to dig a nice plug and popped it out ran it over my coil nothing, I checked the hole again and yup still silver still around 8" I dug around the edge of the hole as to not scratch a coin down in bottom grabbed a handful of dirt ran it over the coil and the DeLeon screamed at me again there it is and I could see the familiar face of Mercury staring at me through the dirt I dropped it in my canister and took a few step and hit a choppy signal but deep hmmm I dug a plug and flipped it over and out dropped a 1940 nickle I ran the D over the hole again and another deep choppy sound from the DeLeon I grabbed a handful of dirt and wow another nickle this time a 1947. The DeLeon kept me busy with signals but nothing exciting I went back to a spot I have dug silver in the past and boom the DeLeon made me slam the brakes it screamed hey dummy deep silver 6" and like a good servant of the machine I dug and sure enough right about 6 inches down another silver dime this time a Roosevelt, I dropped it in the can and swung a little more the DeLeon never wants to quit but I was done for the day. Besides we got what we came for, when I got home I soaked the coins in water and rinsed them off and found that the Mercury dime is a 1943 and the Roosevelt is a 1947 both in good shape. Sorry for the long story of the Taskmaster D and me but saying look what I found just doesn't cut the DeLeon so much fun I have to do it justice ............Here's the pic's of today's goods enjoy
